Set up and manage multiple operating companies or legal entities in a single Business Central company

DimensionPath Multi-Entity Management (MEM) enables multiple companies/entities to be defined in a single Business Central company using Global Dimension 1 to enforce a balanced general ledger. Process entries between entities and allow DimensionPath to automatically generate the payable/receivable entries between them. Easily process transactions that cross entity lines with no need for cumbersome/segregated intercompany flows. DimensionPath MEM provides extensive functionality around inventory sourcing and flows across entities, including (optional based on configuration) sales and invoice document generation behind the scenes for transfer orders. Implement dimension-based security for users to restrict them from entities they should not access, while excluding tables for visibility (eg. ability to only see available inventory for other entities).

Multiple Entities in a Single BC Company
    • DimensionPath enables Global Dimension 1 to work as an Entity identifier, enforcing a balanced general ledger by Entity
    • Automatic generation of balancing payable/receivable entries between entities whenever a G/L posting crosses entity lines
    • Post vendor invoices with lines allocated to multiple entities, to have the amounts hit those entities (base BC) and then automatically post the payable entries for those line entities to the header entity (with a corresponding automatic receivable entry

Centralized Cash Management
    • Issue payments or post cash receipts in a central entity, applying the transactions to open documents in other entities (optional – not allowed by default)
    • Suggest Vendor Payments and Suggest Employee Payments by Global Dimension 1 values, generating lines to either pay out of each entity or to pay open items across entities out of a centralized entity, all based on configurations and setups

Dimension Based User Security
    • Define defaults and controls around dimensions by user
    • Optionally restrict user data visibility by dimension values, so that users only see data for their allowed entities

Cross-Entity Inventory Flows and Automation
    • Automatic creation of matching documents (sales/purchase) between entities
    • Automated supporting document creation for inventory sourced from other entities for third party sales, and for inventory targeted to other entities for vendor purchases
    • Alternate entity and location sourcing/targeting for document lines
    • Optional full sales/purchase invoice creation and posting behind the scenes for cross-Entity transfer orders
